The program is staffed almost entirely by volunteers, without their assistance this
program would not exist. The Adaptive Riding Institute owns approximately 30 horses, many of which are specially trained to work
with certain types of disabilities. First time visitors receive a riding evaluation to determine
their abilities and needs. Each rider is encouraged to set individual goals.
During the winter months riders improve their abilities by attending indoor riding lessons and training clinics. When summer comes those abilities are exercised at fun filled horse camping trips throughout the state. See our
Activity Schedule.
Fees for program services begin at $20 for lessons. Most horse camping trips are $100 per rider and the wilderness pack trip averages approximately $300, depending on the number of riders and location of the trip. Equine Assisted Therapy fees vary according to type of therapy session and location. Call the H.O.R.S.E.S. Ltd. office for therapy questions and fees. Scholarships may be available for some limited income riders and fees can be adjusted on a sliding scale basis based on income.
For those of you who may want to help support this program, you can do so by volunteering your time, making a donation, providing a scholarship for a limited income rider, or by nominating your horse for the
Adaptive Riding Institute Hall of Fame. For more information, please call or e-mail us.
