Co-Founder & President of the Board of Directors
Kerrill has been active in animal welfare and an advocate of disability issues since the 1970's. She has played a pivotal role in the creation of several non-profit organizations includung ARI where she continues to serve as President of the Board of Directors.  Currently residing in Bend, OR; her hobbies include Carriage Driving with her Mustang "PJ" and breeding Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

Susanne and her sister Kerrill founded ARI (formerly HORSES Ltd.) in 1988, after a lifetime of sharing equine activities. She spent most of her youth on horseback enjoying riding for pleasure and showing. Susanne began her career in animal assisted therapy in the early 1980's training service dogs for people with disabilities.  She currenly wears many hats at ARI including instructor, barn manager, and Executive Director.  Susanne's free time is spent with her children and grandchildren, her 5 Mustangs, her husband and her 3 dogs, and quilting.

Carmen joined the Adaptive Riding Institute in 2000 as an intern from Germany where she spent many years volunteering in horse therapy programs and riding dressage. She currently holds the postitions of Riding Instructor and Program Director, and overseeing all the training of the therapy horses. She has her Master's in Counseling and she is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.  During her time off she enjoys spending time with her Mustangs and dogs.
